EMV仕様
- 元々はISO/IEC 7816(接触型ICカード仕様)をベースにした金融決済システムにおける決済ICカードの仕様
- EMVCoにより策定・認定・管理
- カード、決済端末、ネットワークの3つの要素に分けて標準化
- 時代に変化に伴い、今は幅広くコンタクト・コンタクトレス・モバイル・QRコード等の仕様も存在
- EMV : Europay, Mastercard, Visaの略語。2002年EuropayはMastercardへ買収された。
- EMVCo : EMV仕様の策定・認定・管理団体。国際ブランド会社6社 - American Express, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, 銀聯(UnionPay), and Visa）によって設立。
- よく「EMV、EMV化、EMV対応、EMV準拠」という場合、ICカードがEMV仕様に準拠しているとのこと。

- PCI DSS（カード決済のセキュリティ標準）の策定
- American Express、Discover、JCB、MasterCard、Visaで構成（EMVCoと違って、銀聯が入っていない）
